This method of inclining a bed is robust and inside the existing frame so as not to alter the external appearance and will not damage the frame. The mattress and the IBT sleepers weight is distributed directly to the floor through ply wood / mdf wedge triangles, with cross members screwed and glued from the top to support the existing base. I like this idea because it preserves the look of this antique bed and has nothing attached to the frame that could reduce it's value.
Thank you Axelle Do for providing us with these phtographs and for sharing your low cost modification that I am sure will be adopted by many.
Inclined Bed Therapy (IBT) is based upon a new understanding of how our circulation benefits from gravity.
Axelle Do Hello everyone, here are the pictures that show how to make a bed inclined at 5 °. The system is in place on the ground. then put the box spring and the mattress top.
Is not life grand? !!!!!!!
Auryn has provided these images showing the simplest method of inclining a bed. A door frame was removed and raised at the head end using books. Now what is your excuse for not trying IBT?

I like this method of inclining a bed inside the existing frame. Superb job by Cindi
The first pic is cutting and assembling in driveway. It was a pain in the rump to get it fully assembled into bedroom. Had to take a board off to make the corner. Second pic is in place inside my bed frame. I used the slats from my bed because I forgot to buy wood for them when I bought the lumber. The incline frame fits perfectly within the original frame. Last pic is with everything on it. The head of the bed is about 4.5 ft high. We will revise that. There is still work to do on it, but out of time today for it!
It's amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. This is a superb stable inclined bed frame made by Miz Di from Facebook. I think it's an excellent method that costs very little and far superior to many purchased standard bed frames. So girls, rather than wait for your partner to get around to inclining your bed, follow this example or others in this category and do it yourself.
"Yes, I did this all myself with a drill, 4 x 4's, 3" screws, plywood, left over boxspring made out of wood and the bed and cat! This is for a Queen bed, I made the legs extra long to have storage under it. The legs are 18", 20", 22", and 24", longest being at the top of the bed, then I used plywood on top. Cindi Phoenix was my inspiration for this bed frame. She introduced me to Inclined Bed Therapy"
