Varicose Veins, Type 2 Diabetes Energy and sleep

Since raising my bed 6 inches I've rid myself of varicose veins, sleep better, and have more energy. I'm also experimenting with earthing and that seems to be a good addition, although I've made my own earthing mats, and the comfort aspect needs attention! Altogether, Hard to tell as I've recently added a new Type 2 Diabetes med, but my sugar levels are now around 5,6,7 instead of 10, 12. 15. Having BPH (benign prostate hyperplasia) means I have to get up hourly and sometimes half hourly. Getting back to sleep is no longer a problem. Thank goodness for Andrew and anecdotal versus scientific justification. Try it and see if it works for yourself, but don't rely on Big Pharma who try to block this site with BIG RED danger warnings from Norton Security. Norton downloaded themselves on my computer and tried to dissuade me from visiting Inclined Bed Therapy!

Updated:

At my regular monthly massage my therapist said "Did you photograph your varicose veins prior to your new IBT treatment?
Unfortunately, no. Didn't think of it.

You see, I had very bad varicose veins in my right leg, and reading the IBT site, I decided to give it a go, as it's free and very easy. Varicose vein stripping/ removal costs between $1000 and up to $4000 PER treatment, and several may be needed. I'm always experimenting, not doing much, but like to discover things for myself. Even in painting, I don't paint pictures any more, rather experiment and play with colour. Well, this 'dude'-Andrew K Fletcher, engineer- studied trees, and the mechanism by which sap rises and falls and applied it to the recumbent human body by experiment. In his experiment you can see how blood flows in a vein, and it all makes very good sense.

I tend to do things by averages. Bought a door and made a triangular frame and put that onto the bed base. The base has wheels and propping one end just made it roll, it was a bit too soft anyway! Just measured it and it actually works out at 6".

Now, to digress, varicose vein surgery is a multi-million dollar industry and they don't like their fee-base being eroded, they need sick people, healthy ones are no profit and useless to them. And as a result, a free cure for circulatory ills is diabolical and iniquitous to the industry. Call it conspiracy theory if you like, but when Norton Security download surreptitiously on to my -personal and private- computer and start censoring my searches, I feel it has gone too far. If you want free medical treatment for many circulatory problems, try raising the head of your bed a few inches! Herewith follows an excerpt from a medical site ...."Varicose veins aren't just a cosmetic problem. They can also cause a fair amount of pain and discomfort on a daily basis, with some of the more persistent symptoms including swelling, throbbing and leg cramps. Serious complications can develop over time too, such as phlebitis (vein inflammation), blood clots, dermatitis and painful vein ulcers that, in extreme cases, can lead to amputation."

Comment from Andrew
Norton has since removed my site from their so called Safe Search Warning and accepted they had false flagged it. Mcaffe are still trying to block my site and not responded to my reports. It does make me suspicious that Pharma is using these programmes to dissuade people from viewing them.

Varicose veins, chronic pain

IBT Review:

I had been sleeping with my bed inclined 4" for about a year.
I noticed a few improvements:
-More energetic/ clear headed upon waking
-Varicose vein lump in my leg reduced heaps
-Sleeping through the night instead of waking up 2 or 3 times
-Less flare up days. (I am a chronic pain patient)

Then I had to move and was sleeping on a mattress on the ground flat for a few months. I started waking up feeling like a zombie, cloudy head, extremely lethargic and dead legs. The lump from the varicose vein came back and I was waking up multiple times a night again.

Happy to report I am now back to sleeping inclined and sleep is enjoyable once more! Only inclined 3" atm and I am already noticing the improvements again.

Years of personal experiments:varicose veins and varicocele

Years of personal experiments:varicose veins and varicocele

Mr Andrew Fletcher. First of all I want to thank you because you already helped me a lot. Your unsurpassed discovery is indeed a great improvement to all circulation suffers. But i have some extra difficulties and maybe you can be of more help again. Sorry for the bad English.

My story begins when I was a 19 and diagnosed with a enlarged varicocele (varicose veins in the testicles). I received surgery. It was a sort of extraction of the enlarged vein and a ligature of the remaining in the principal gonadal veins. After this surgery, during the recovery, i felt a lot of pain in all the veins of my body down the trunk (including feet and legs). After the total recovery, these pains were gone. I became healthy and stayed that way about three years.

After these, I have passed though some difficult times in my personal life that made me become an insomniac, and I felt my body to become weakened after a month of very bad sleeping, and my circulation started to be weakened as well. I started to feel my varicocele starting over again.

Unhappily, at those times, I was counselled to sleep with the legs up inclined, to allegedly "rest" the circulation system during the night. For my despair, the problem was progressively worsening, the pains more intense and more and more veins of my body becoming affected by pains.

I used hammocks to sleep all night for about one year,  were the legs become lifted up.
Well, I just have aggravated my symptoms sleeping that way. The doctors that i visited were of no help at all. My second varicocele was too much enlarged at this stage, and Doppler indicated that my principal gonadal vein was refluxing with a bloodstream of 9.00 mlm (the maximum normal is 1.5). I could barely walk, because every time a made a step with the left leg (the side of the reflux) a felt a great pain inside the left side of my body (beginning in the region of the gonadal vein, a little below the left kidney region).

After one year sleeping in this  way, I returned to normal bed, but i adopted a triangle cushion to rest my leg in it....well the result is that one night I waked up in pain, feeling in both feet was totally numbed and after it, the pain was completely spread to all my body, from the kidney regions to the fingers and my feet. I stayed in this miserable condition, worsening every day, and walking or doing any exercise worsened the situation, because my circulation could not sustain the impacts of the movements. The only physical activity i can do is swimming in cold water.

After dozens of doctors, I found one that proposed to do a coil embolization of my left gonadal vein...he inserted 6 coils in it. After this, the very intense pain in these vein lessened, (but I'm still with 4.0 mlm...tree times bigger than normal). The rest of the veins in my body (down the kidneys) continued to worsen and varicosity increased day by day.
The sleep was very bad, needing to take sleeping pills, i cannot move and sleeping in the side in a normal bed.

After total despair, i finally found the IBT theory doing research in the net. In the very first day I tried, and the result was instantaneous. The blood feel warm in my feet, and the pain was mediately relieved and I slept much better during that night.

My circulation started improving every day,and It gave me happiness and hope again.

After some time I realized that the way I tilted the bed was wrong, because i only have inserted some books below the head of my mattress, so, the inclination stopped in the middle of the bed. It was ok to me, because i was improving everyday so i stayed in that way.

Unfortunately, after some months I started to feel my neck becoming awkward, and realized it was for the way that I tilted the bed.

The problem is, I refused to do the right technique (inclining all bed) because the stretching that it gives to the body apparently stretches the veins of my trunk (gonadal veins) too...it looked like it was a chance to cause harm where I have the embolization..the right veins (free of surgery) seems to be stretching too. The legs feel very good sleeping this way, but i am afraid of the stretching effect in the low kidneys region (the gonadal veins)...

Observation: this pain caused by the tilting of the entire bed disappeared after two months of faithful perseverance (apparently was Just the tendons  stretching, as guessed by Mister Fletcher).

 One year after the experiment:

Well people, one year after tilting the entire bed, as prescribed by Mister Fletcher, my body is marvellous cured. I started improving Day by Day. .months passed and those  things that in the past represented a challenging or impossible task..became easy and smooth. After a year my feet and legs don't get sore any more, I no longer need the varicose socks..and remain all day, working and doing exercises with great comfort. Now I can exercise hard mountain trekking without pain  at all. I don't feel pain in the varicocele any-more. Some enlarged veins in my feet now are more normal in size too.

Maybe is a coincidence, but rosacea disappeared too (apparently it can be caused by enlarged micro veins in the face).

I had many experiences with these circulation issues, tested personally by my self over the last 5 years many methods and theories. I can assure for you all, raising the legs is the worst thing you can do for circulation problems. Indeed, tilting the bed, as prescribed by Mister Fletcher...be patient and over time you will be improving your circulation Day by Day. Its incredible....thanks Mister Fletcher ! This great discovery rescued my health and I am strong once again after years of suffering.

Varicose veins, Asthma, sinus problems, oedema, botox failure,

Squirrel

My Inclined Bed Therapy Experience.
5 years ago I inclined my bed to help with asthma and nasal problems – that worked wonderfully, I breathe quite easily now, however, over the past 28 years I have had several operations to remove and repair varicose veins, Which had recurred four times already and I was told by the surgeon that they would recur again. Both my mother and maternal grandmother suffered dreadfully with this complaint. I enjoy walking and the thought of eventually developing leg ulcers was quite terrifying to me as it would be to anyone, but my legs are fine now without even a hint of blue lines let alone lumps the size of walnuts, furthermore I have not suffered with any swelling in my legs or ankles since I began IBT.
It hadn’t occurred to me that I no longer had a varicose vein problem because that wasn’t why I’d inclined my bed in the first place, that was a brilliant unexpected bonus.
The downside of having the bed inclined is that I tried ‘Botox’ (as we ladies of a certain age might) and it only worked for about a week. The cosmetic surgeon was amazed that the paralyzed muscles in my face repaired themselves so quickly. She said I should console myself with the fact that if I should ever have a stroke my facial muscles would be back to normal in double quick time!
When I go away on holiday where I don't have an inclined bed I have noticed that my nasal passages are usually blocked for part of the morning, and I feel quite sluggish and apparently my snoring is deafening. My partner suggests that we pack a few bricks into the cases so that he can get a decent night's sleep.

Hi Squirrel Thank you for posting these valuable observations with repeated varicose vein surgery and your experience with using Botox. Both are fascinating, when first mentioned this was a revelation for me as I have been involved with neurological conditions as you know for many years and this proves what I have been stating about nerves recovering from impact or degenerative disease using Inclined Bed Therapy.

It’s a pity there are not more people using IBT that have tried botox to confirm this, but it would provide a great method of testing and compiling a protocol for a study to confirm the efficacy of IBT for spinal injury and other neurological conditions. If memory serves me well, you had this procedure repeated and the outcome was the same with a rapid recovery more than once? I have learned of several professional therapists in the USA who specialise in Spinal Cord Rehabilitation are already advising their patients to use IBT.

It is good to learn that you will not need further surgery on your veins in the foreseeable future and this can only mean that because the pressure inside the veins which was causing them to become swollen has now been reduced. Indicating that surgery success rates can be raised considerably and therefore substantially reducing the cost to the health service and the private patients.

It is great to learn about other implications for IBT and they are very important observations in their own right requiring further investigation and a controlled study to prove or disprove them.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for your reply - yes I did have botox on more than one occasion as the cosmetic surgeon couldn't believe that it had not worked for longer than 1 week so she gave me a freebie as an apology, however this only lasted a week as well so when I returned to see her again she said she couldn't give me any more as she had already given me more than she felt comfortable with, in fact is was a dose suitable for a large man (she said) and as I am only 5'-2" tall she was worried about overdosing. Guess I shall just have to put up with the wrinkled forehead!
